Sharing the gift of music since 2012
Since 2012, Friends in Music has brought live musical performances to nursing homes and hospitals on a regular basis. Our organization is student-led, and our talented team of musicians — with skills ranging from singing to playing the piano to storytelling — works tirelessly every week to prepare for each performance.
Originally founded in Loma Linda, California, we have performed at facilities throughout the Inland Empire including Pomona, Loma Linda, and surrounding communities. Today, Friends in Music continues its mission in Denton, Texas, bringing the same passion and dedication to a new community.
To work hard and prepare thoroughly for each performance. To treat others with respect, dignity, and kindness. And most importantly, to spread the gift of music everywhere we go.
Founded in 2012 by Jiwon Han and Song Yi Lee, our mission is to shape our members to be people who can make a positive impact through music. We want to reach local community facilities — such as nursing homes, children's hospitals, and senior living places — to build lasting relationships. We welcome opportunities to meet with new friends through music.
We want our members to learn the following attitudes:
We started FIM as local piano teachers who believe music is the best way to be friends with you.
— Jiwon Han & Song Yi Lee, Founders
"Friends in Music's natural talent for music is impeccable. They've been coming to our facility for years; our residents really enjoy all their performances. Some of my residents even commented that it is as if you are watching full professional music entertainment. We at Pomona Valley Care and Rehab Center really appreciated all the effort and the joy that they bring to our residents' lives."

From California's Inland Empire to North Texas, our music brings joy across communities.
